Miss Universe Supports #TimesUp at the 75th Golden Globe Awards

Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters kicked off her 2018 at the 75th Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, California. Not only did she attend to show support for the nominees, but she also was there to support the Times Up initiative.

"Powered by women, TIME’S UP addresses the systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace that have kept underrepresented groups from reaching their full potential. We partner with leading advocates for equality and safety to improve laws, employment agreements, and corporate policies; help change the face of corporate boardrooms and the C-suite; and enable more women and men to access our legal system to hold wrongdoers accountable."

The attendees of the Golden Globes were encouraged to wear black in solidarity with other stars who were protesting gender inequality and sexual harassment.

"I was proud to stand in solidarity with women all over the world that have ever been affected by any form of inequality or abuse. The time of tolerating injustice is up," says Demi in her Instagram post.

She also states, "if you would like to show your support, you can donate to the @TimesUpNow Legal Defense Fund that will provide subsidized legal support to women and men who have experienced sexual harassment, assault, or abuse in the workplace."

Additionally, WME became a founding donor to the Times Up legal defense fund. The fund was created to help women in blue-collar industries protect themselves from sexual misconduct and will also cover legislation, corporate policy, hiring practices and aggregation of public resources.

No more silence. No more waiting.
No more tolerance for discrimination, harassment or abuse.
